Der Estate Pinot Noir von The Hilt ist ein klassischer Pinot von Santa Rita Hills AVA in Kalifornien. Er verströmt Kirschen und Gewürze mit leichten Erd- und Rauchnoten. Der Wein ist seriös, bleibt dabei aber zugänglich und offen. Die seidigen Tannine machen den Wein verführerisch. Das Weingut The Hilt gehört Stan Kroenke, der auch das ikonische Weingut Screaming Eagle und das Weingut Bonneau du Martray in Burgund besitzt. Der berühmte Önologe Matt Dees kümmert sich um die Vinifizierung der Weine des Weinguts.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Estate is a gorgeous introduction to the vintage at The Hilt. Pliant and layered, the 2019 is a very serious wine at this level. Dark red cherry/plum, spice and lavender are all perked up by the wine's brightness. The 2019 is appealing and quite accessible, but it has a good deal of grip, too. More backward and tight, the light gold-colored 2017 Chardonnay Vanguard offers a vibrant, crisp bouquet of sliced green apple, salty minerality, citrus, and hints of flowers.
