Der Barbaresco von Angelo Gaja ist eine der bekanntesten Referenzen aus dem Piemont. Obwohl er offener ist als die Cuvées Parcellaires, ist er dennoch ein strukturierter Wein mit einem Lagerungspotenzial von etwa 15 Jahren. Dieser Nebbiolo wird 12 Monate in Barriques ausgebaut und anschliessend 12 Monate in der Flasche verfeinert, bevor er auf den Markt kommt. Der Barbaresco von Gaja wird seit der Gründung des Weinguts im Jahr 1859 hergestellt. Er wird aus 14 Parzellen zusammengestellt und spiegelt somit den Jahrgang und das Terroir der Gemeinde wider.

The bouquet is beautifully linear with delicate notes of wild cherry, rose and sweet spice that unfold with precision. The palate is open and charming, reflecting the warm vintage with a gentle sweetness of fruit, yet it never loses the elegance or structural definition that have long distinguished this benchmark wine. The tannins are seamlessly integrated, and despite the year's heat, the wine remains graceful and refined. The 2023 growing season, with its cooler August followed by renewed warmth, appears to have allowed the vines to adapt more successfully than in 2022, resulting in a wine that balances ripe fruit with freshness and poise.
