Unwinding in the glass with scents of cherry, sweet berries, dark chocolate and loamy soil, the 2021 La Mondotte is medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, with a compact, tightly wound profile, tangy acids and beautifully refined tannins. The 2021 La Mondotte is a dense, potent beauty, with depths of black cherry, plum, gravel, scorched earth, leather, lavender and incense. In 2021, Mondotte is quite savory and brooding, a style with freshness and less opulence than most years. It's also a wine that needs time. I imagine the 2021 will always be a pretty dark Saint-Émilion. - AG 12/2023

Beck

La Mondotte 2021 a du caractère ; il ne se veut guère exorbitant ou démonstratif, c'est bien la finesse qui est son fil rouge avec, entre autres, des nuances de pivoines, de framboises et de fèves de cacao. Le millésime y est certainement pour quelque chose, mais les choix de vinification et d'élevage également. Ainsi, l'attaque est élancée, élégante tandis que la structure acide prend le relais et assure les arrières en conférant de la fraîcheur et du tempérament. Un vin serré, mais élégant et sapide à la finale salivante et persistante. Très belle réussite. 2027-2041 - YB 02/2024

A refined and firm-tannined red with violets, tangerines and blue fruit. Medium-bodied, tight and compact palate with everything in place. Elegance with structure. - JS 05/2022
