La partie haute du coteau est à quelques mètres à peine du fameux château. Le sol y est argilo calcaire tandis qu’au bas on le trouve plutôt argilo limoneux. Cette dualité confère au vin sa trame tannique et sa longueur, tandis que l’éraflage pour moitié de la vendange lui apporte sa rondeur et son aromatique. Clos Vougeot est un vin puissant, solide et homogène.

The 2022 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is terrific, offering up aromas of cherries, dark berries, orange zest, spices and rose petals, followed by a full-bodied, layered and multidimensional palate that's rich and textural, its deep core of fruit framed by sweet, powdery tannins.
