Clos Fourtet 2021

Clos Fourtet ist ein Premier Cru Grand Classé aus St-Emilion, der auf traditionelle Weise vinifiziert wird und 18 Monate in Fässern (60-70% neues Holz) ausgebaut wird. Auf dem 18.7 Hektaren grossen Weinberg wachsen hauptsächlich Merlot (85%), aber auch Cabernets. Clos Fourtet gehört zu den grossen Referenz-Weinen von Bordeaux, dessen hochwertiges Terroir eine schöne Regelmässigkeit von einem Jahrgang zum anderen garantiert.

The 2021 Clos Fourtet opens in the glass with notes of dark berries, plums, spices and subtle hints of smoked meats and toasty oak. Medium-bodied, fleshy and ample, with powdery tannins that assert themselves on the gently structured finish, this remains a strong effort, but it doesn't quite deliver the depth and plenitude it seemed to en primeur. - WK 02/2024

The 2021 Clos Fourtet is a dark, imposing wine. Blackberry, gravel, scorched earth, leather, incense and clove infuse the 2021 with tons of character. This is definitely a wine from a cold year—a year lacking in sunshine. In that sense, Clos Fourtet is wonderfully expressive, as it paints a very accurate portrait of a place and a growing season. Que de finesse et de détails dans le bouquet de ce vin. Il se distingue par sa clarté, sa puissance, son élégance… musclée de surcroît. Ce vin fait saliver le palais, il donne envie d'être bu tout en soulignant qu'il a encore de nombreuses années devant lui. Je suggère de le goûter régulièrement pour suivre son évolution… il faut juste en avoir assez ! Un vin linéaire, fin, puissant, sapide. 2027- 2047 - YB 02/2024
