Clos Fourtet 2019 (Magnum)

Clos Fourtet ist ein Premier Cru Grand Classé aus St-Emilion, der auf traditionelle Weise vinifiziert wird und 18 Monate in Fässern (60-70% neues Holz) ausgebaut wird. Auf dem 18.7 Hektaren grossen Weinberg wachsen hauptsächlich Merlot (85%), aber auch Cabernets. Clos Fourtet gehört zu den grossen Referenz-Weinen von Bordeaux, dessen hochwertiges Terroir eine schöne Regelmässigkeit von einem Jahrgang zum anderen garantiert.

The 2019 Clos Fourtet has a beautifully defined bouquet of vivacious red berry fruit, wild hedgerow, cassis and crushed violets, intense at the moment, and yet I think this is going to close down. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, blackberry, a touch of tar, and a pinch of white pepper on a finish that fans out gloriously. A long-term prospect. - NM / 02-2022
