Die Weinberge liegen hoch oben am Hang von Chassagne und sind von Brachflächen umgeben. Sie profitieren von einer konstanten Sonneneinstrahlung, wodurch sie eine beeindruckende Fruchtdichte entwickeln und die Mineralität des Terroirs authentisch widerspiegeln.
Das intensive Bouquet eröffnet mit Noten von Zitrone, Blutorange, Lakritz und Mandel. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Wein kraftvoll und spannungsvoll und bietet saftige Aromen von reifen Früchten und feinen süßen Gewürzen.

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Virondot 1er Cru is a worthy follow-up to the impressive 2022. Very complex and harmonious on the nose, it just could not be from anywhere but Chassagne, combining very subtle yellow fruit notes with stirring minerality. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It's quite energetic at the moment, which will hopefully be captured in the bottle. There's a very sustained spicy aftertaste that completes a great Chassagne.
