Die Weinberge von Château Meyney sind mit 65% Cabernet Sauvignon und 25% Merlot bepflanzt und liegen auf einem perfekt entwässerten Kieselsteinboden, der ideale Bedingungen für die Reife der Trauben bietet. Die Rebsorten werden durch 10% Petit Verdot ergänzt, ein für Saint-Estèphe untypischer Prozentsatz. Der Petit Verdot ergibt besonderen Charakte, mit Noten von Leder und Moschus. Der Château Meyney ist vollmundig, fleischig und strukturiert und wird mit Liebe zum Detail ausgebaut. Wenn er reif ist, wird er den unnachahmlichen Charme der grossen Saint-Estèphe-Weine entwickeln: Komplexität, Harmonie und Ausgewogenheit.

La symbiose entre des nuances fruitées, des épices, de la minéralité et des notes d'élevage est réjouissante et souligne la complexité du vin. Dense et défini, Meyney bénéficie de tannins veloutés et précis qui offrent une puissance discrète mais ô combien efficace ! The 2020 Château Meyney is a solid step up, with more elegance and finesse, as well as structure. Giving up medium-bodied aromas and flavors of darker currants, black cherries, classy oak, tobacco leaf, and damp earth, it has terrific overall balance, building, fine-grained tannins, and a great finish. It has some accessibility today yet will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age and keep for two decades.
