Der Roussanne Vieilles Vignes von Château de Beaucastel ist ein äusserst seltener weisser Châteauneuf-du-Pape (nur etwa 6'000 Flaschen gelangen auf den Markt). Er wird 8 Monate lang ausgebaut (30 % im Holzfass, 70 % im Edelstahltank) und ist ein hervorragender Weisswein für die gehobene Gastronomie. Wie alle grossen weissen Châteauneuf-du-Pape kann dieser Wein entweder jung oder nach 8 bis 10 Jahren Lagerung genossen werden. Dann hat er zusätzlich an Komplexität und Finesse gewonnen. Aus einer bereits 1909 bepflanzten Parzelle stammend, ist der Roussanne Vieilles Vignes eine aussergewöhnliche Cuvée und eine wahre Meisterleistung von Château de Beaucastel.

Crafted entirely from old vines of Roussanne, the 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes matured in 50% new oak barrels and demi-muids from Chassaing and Dargaud & Jaegle and 50% in one-year-old barrels without undergoing malolactic fermentation. It exhales a deep, complex and elegant bouquet of honey, linden, spices, ripe orchard fruit and marmalade. Full-bodied, round and sappy, concentrated and textured, it’s dense and seamless with a rich texture and subtle, elegant, refined acidity that segues into a long, rich finish.
