Der Name Les Preuses hat seinen Ursprung in dem Wort Stein. Perrière war im Altfranzösischen die Bezeichnung für einen Steinbruch. Tatsächlich liegt Les Preuses am Rande eines alten römischen Weges. Hellgelbe Robe mit goldenen Reflexen. Opulente, aber sehr feine Nase mit mineralischen, jodhaltigen, cremigen und blumigen Noten, Honig und Trockenfrüchten. Im Mund ist der Auftakt offen, die Mitte des Mundes ist kraftvoll, prägnant und rassig. Dieser Wein ist von seinem lehmigen Terroir geprägt. Die Noten von Zitrusfrüchten verbinden sich wunderbar mit den mineralischen und jodhaltigen Aromen dieses außergewöhnlichen Bodens.

The 2018 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru has an introverted bouquet that demands coaxing, eventually offering wet pavement, limestone and light oyster shell aromas. The palate is well balanced with an appealing oily texture. Lime, orange pith, touches of menthol and brown spices form the midpalate. Good density and spiciness come through on the finish. Pure pale colour. The 2018 les Preuses offers a very classic nose with a weight of ripe fruit, not in the oyster shell style. Generous, but balanced, all is very nicely in place. The sweetness of the fruit fills out the mid palate and leaves the fruit rejoicing through to a very long finish. Perfect balance. A Five Billaud-Simon appear to have mastered Les Preuses!
