Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru von Bouchard ist ein kräftiger, rassiger und eleganter Pinot Noir mit der typischen samtigen Textur. Er wird 10 bis 12 Monate in Barriques ausgebaut, mit einem sehr geringen Anteil an neuem Holz (ca. 15%). Bouchard verfügt über eine Parzelle im Nordosten des Clos (Kies- und Kalksteinboden) und eine weitere ganz im Süden (brauner Lehmboden).

Bouchard’s non-estate 2007 Clos Vougeot smells of blond tobacco, pungent herbs, fresh red fruits, roasted game, and a hint of rose petal. Decadent game and floral suggestions persist throughout, but the sweetness of fruit and herbal inflections are perturbed by gum-numbing tannin. Eventually, strawberry fruit, tobacco, and rose petal re-emerge on a lingering finish. It may be that this will knit-itself with a bit more time, and it looks likely to be capable of withstanding at least 6-8 years in bottle.Vinous
Good full red. Complex nose offers aromas of redcurrant, cola, graphite and smoke. Intensely flavored, sappy and deep, with succulent fruit, spice, licorice and mineral flavors showing a mounting sweetness. This vibrant grand cru stains the palate on the very long finish but will need five years to absorb its slight edge of acidity.
