Tenuta di Trinoro, cuvée emblématique du domaine du même nom, affole les critiques depuis son premier millésime en 1997 (1995 et 1996 n'ont pas été commercialisés). Généreux, profond, à la texture inoubliable, cet assemblage varie énormément d'un millésime au suivant et peut comprendre une dominante de merlot, de cabernet franc ou de cabernet sauvignon. L'élevage prend place en bois neuf; sa durée varie elle aussi considérablement. Tenuta di Trinoro est l'un des vins mythiques d'Italie.

The 2022 Tenuta di Trinoro is a masterful blend of 44% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot that delivers imposing structure and the firm tannins that are a defining trait of this vintage. The wine shows a decisively etched profile, and while additional bottle age will help integrate the tannins, that firmness is likely to remain an enduring signature of the season. Planted on high-elevation hillside vineyards in southern Tuscany, the estate’s low-yield philosophy amplifies concentration and intensity. Packed tightly with black fruit richness, the wine offers sustained volume and layered texture, with 15% alcohol powering the very ample mid-palate. Produced in just 8,483 bottles, this is a commanding and age-worthy release.
