Le deuxième vin de Screaming Eagle, "The Flight", voit le jour sur un vignoble, situé au fond de la vallée, au carrefour d'Oakville, en face du domaine Rudd.
Screaming Eagle, le domaine emblématique de la Napa Valley, est perché au sommet d'une colline, surplombant le vignoble. Le domaine a été créé en 1989 par Jean Philips et racheté en 2006 par le milliardaire américain Stan Kroenke, propriétaire également des domaines emblématiques californiens Jonata et The Hilt et du domaine bourguignon Bonneau du Martray. Le domaine veille sur un terroir de 20 hectares, répartis sur une mosaïque de parcelles aux expositions variées et aux sols composés notamment de graves et de limons argileux. Produit en quantité très limitée, Screaming Eagle est reconnu par les plus grands critiques internationaux pour son extrême finesse.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 The Flight drifts sensuously out of the glass with the most gorgeous perfume of red roses, kirsch, black raspberries and fresh blackcurrants followed by hints of iron ore, tilled soil, lavender and star anise plus a touch of powdered cinnamon. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a fantastically chiseled structure of ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the black fruit and floral layers, finishing with bags of minerals.- LP 11/2020Vinous
The 2018 The Flight is bright and effusive from the outset. A rush of ripe red/purplish fruit makes a strong opening statement. Pliant, racy and enveloping, the 2018 offers terrific immediacy, with soft contours and silky tannins adding to its considerable allure. Rose petal, lavender and blood orange infuse the silky, creamy finish with gorgeous layers of nuance. I would give the 2018 a few years to allow the tannins to soften, but it will be hard to resist until then. - AG 12/2020Dunnuck
The 2018 Flight is incredibly floral and elegant, which is very much in the style of this cuvée. Crunchy red and black fruits, violets, and spring flower notes emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a beautiful finish. It’s capable of evolving for 10-15 years. - JD 01/2021
