The 2020 Champagne Grand Cru Chouilly Brut Nature is made with farming practices similar to the Avize, but the Chouilly has a fleshy, frothy mousse with more breadth and a salty profile, along with notes of toasty bread and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate. I prefer the Avize in this vintage, but this Chouilly has a more savory, autumnal personality, with a brooding, salty brininess. It has a light hint of iodine and is perhaps broader and more angular. 1261 bottles were produced.
