Ce Premier Cru est considéré comme beaucoup d'amateurs comme le plus prestigieux de l'appellation. Il repose sur un terroir calcaire orienté sud-est. Un élevage de 18 à 20 mois précéde la mise en bouteille de ce grand vin de garde.

The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques (Domaine Louis Jadot) is also an especially strong performer in the range this year. Offering up aromas of dark red berries, orange zest, peonies and subtle spices, it's medium- to full-bodied, ample and suave, with good depth, completeness and persistence.Morris
An even crimson colour, not the deepest, but then the dark fruited concentration really kicks in on the palate, with a sterner structure and fine persistence. The nobility of the terroir transcends the vintage. Perhaps not quite the mid palate amplitude of a richer year, but the 2024 Clos St-Jacques has been well made. Drink from 2032-2038.
