Clos de Vougeot de la maison Bouchard est un pinot noir puissant, racé et élégant, à la texture veloutée typique de ce Grand Cru. Il est élevé 10 à 12 mois en barriques, avec une part très faible de bois neuf (environ 15%). Bouchard dispose d'un lot au nord-est du Clos (sol de gravier et de calcaire) et d'un autre tout au sud (sol brun et argileux).

Bouchard’s non-estate 2007 Clos Vougeot smells of blond tobacco, pungent herbs, fresh red fruits, roasted game, and a hint of rose petal. Decadent game and floral suggestions persist throughout, but the sweetness of fruit and herbal inflections are perturbed by gum-numbing tannin. Eventually, strawberry fruit, tobacco, and rose petal re-emerge on a lingering finish. It may be that this will knit-itself with a bit more time, and it looks likely to be capable of withstanding at least 6-8 years in bottle.Vinous
Good full red. Complex nose offers aromas of redcurrant, cola, graphite and smoke. Intensely flavored, sappy and deep, with succulent fruit, spice, licorice and mineral flavors showing a mounting sweetness. This vibrant grand cru stains the palate on the very long finish but will need five years to absorb its slight edge of acidity.
