The Chambertin shows an excellent density of magenta colour. The nose here is stunning. Royalty with a sensuality of fruit, plus a tiny graphite note. Tingles all the way through with a grand weight. Is it all completely in harmony? Possibly not, but it scarcely matters. A fine thread of acidity. Robust, slightly overweight in one sense, and just a little bit of (burnt) toast from the barrel, but these are details which should be sorted out during the remaining elevage. Henri was only able to make one half barrel from 300kg of grapes, sorted berry by berry, and to be bottled only in magnums. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Oct 2025.Degustation
