Der Ermitage Les Greffieux ist ein Syrah von Michel Chapoutier, der am Fusse des berühmten Hermitage-Hügels entsteht. Er ist dicht und von grosser aromatischer Kraft (schwarze Früchte, Oliven), ein Wein, der für die Lagerung geschaffen ist. Er wird 14 bis 18 Monate in Fässern ausgebaut (etwa ein Drittel neues Holz).

The inky colored 2005 Ermitage Les Greffieux offers deep, full-bodied notes of smoked black fruits, charcoal, tar and licorice in a concentrated, youthful and surprisingly elegant package. It has the tannic spine that’s present in all of these 2005s from Michel, as well as good acidity and a clean, focused finish. It lacks the bombastic fruit of the 2006, yet is still a gorgeous wine that has another two decades of longevity.
