Description

Wineadvocate

You can really taste how the 2011 Barolo Cannubi reflects the territory-specific characteristic of this famous vineyard cru. The bouquet opens to distinct mineral notes with polished river stone and dusty granite. Those aromas rise and blow off, revealing heavier underlying tones of dark fruit, spice and balsam herb. There is a distant note of pressed flower or rose hip as well. This wine flaunts its own individual personality. - ML 06/2016

Vinous

The 2011 Barolo Cannubi stands out for its nuance and amplitude, both signatures that separate it from many of the other wines in this range. There is a real sense of pedigree here, but it is hard to describe with mere words, as is often the case with Grand Cru Burgundy. Beautifully resonant and expressive, the Cannubi is shaping up to be a real gem. Scavino rents a small parcel in the heart of Cannubi that may very well be one of the best sites in the family's range. A bottle of the inaugural 1985 was magic. Drink: 2018-2036)"
