Vinattieri's 2015 Ticino Merlot is clear, fresh and intense on the toasty and spicy nose with notes of dark cherry and black berry. Round and smooth but elegant on the palate, this full-bodied and juicy red reveals a long, intense finish with chocolate and spicy notes as well as grippy, still somewhat bitter and drying tannins. This is a very ambitious red wine in the international style. 14% alcohol. Tasted in October 2019.
