The 2016 Charlouise is complex and ripe. While light in body, it packs in plenty of concentration and muscle. It offers a big tannic structure, yet this is all destemmed (it wasn't until 2019 that the Charlouise cuvée included whole bunches). The long, scented finish exudes plum, tea leaf and red cherry. It's starting to drink beautifully now and shows how good red Sancerre can be. - RG 06/2023
