Wineadvocate

Simi's 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (actually a blend that includes 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc) is an impressive, complex, authoritatively flavored yet elegant Cabernet that combines the restrained finesse of Bordeaux with the rich, ripe, overt fruitiness of California. The deep, dense, ruby/purple color is followed by an unformed but promising nose of blackcurrants, vanilla, and spice. Rich and full-bodied, as well as exceptionally well-balanced and supple, with moderate tannin and impressive extraction, this rich, multi-layered Cabernet Sauvignon is accessible enough to be drunk, but it should age for two decades.
