The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru seems a little oaky on the nose, which is occluding the terroir compared to others tasted on my travels. The palate is medium-bodied with strict tannins, black rather than red fruit with a slightly toasty finish. This feels a bit short overall.Morris
Fuller crimson purple, with rather a deeper and livelier fruit, really interesting for Chaumes which can be pedestrian. Shows the oak a touch, excellent acidity red raspberry inside a blacker overcoat. Maxime has achieved what he wanted to do. Drink from 2026-2032. Tasted Nov 2022.Degustation
