Notes de dégustation

Vinous

The 2017 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru seemed to be going back into its shell after bottling, but one can still see its gorgeous, undergrowth-infused red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. A structured Bonnes-Mares that has "serious" written across its forehead; it will need several years in bottle. One for the patient. The 2018 may even drink before it. NM - Jan. 2020

Morris

The domaine has one plot in a spot they call Paradis – a real oven. This is picked apart and during vinification it seemed over-ripe and pruny, but it has freshened up since. Nonetheless this part on its own is not balanced – rough tannins alongside fully-ripe fruit. However the main cuvée is a much better prospect. It is still really ripe but much better balanced, offering sweet ripe dark red fruit with plenty of tannins, but well integrated. There is plenty of stuffing here, lowish acidity but the tannins work to complete the equilibrium of the wine. Tasted: November 2018.
