Description

Wineadvocate

(…) The cuvée 001.14 was disgorged in 2014 as Brut with a dosage of four or five grams per liter. The expensive wine offers a fascinatingly deep and concentrated bouquet that is very clear and fresh in its fruit aromas, but also delivers complex secondary aromas of coffee, nougat, biscuits and many more flavors. Full-bodied, ripe and intense on the palate, this is a rich and powerful, yet round and highly elegant cuvée of great complexity and persistence. It is stunningly fresh and pairs fruity aromas with nutty and spicy flavors, revealing a delicate tannin structure and a very long, salty and mineral finish. Drink: 2020-2040.

Vinous

Moët’s new ultra high-end multi-vintage blend, is being released this year in magnum. MCIII is a blend based on 2003, with 40% 2002, 2000 and 1998 Grand Vintage wines aged specifically for this Champagne, plus about 20% 1999, 1998 and 1993 Grand Vintage wines taken from bottles that were opened and then added to the final blend. Given the natural richness of 2003 and the significant presence of older vintages, MCIII is a resonant, expansive Champagne built on texture and breadth. Orange peel, spice, apricot jam, baked pastry, honey, hazelnut and chamomile fill out the wine’s frame effortlessly, with gently oxidative, burnished overtones that add complexity. The magnum format and slightly lower dosage vis-à-vis the standard bottles seem especially well suited to this wine. Today, the MCIII from magnum is terrific. - AG 07/2018
