Notes de dégustation

Wineadvocate

The 2012 Matarocchio is a pure (and amazing) expression of Cabernet Franc. The wine is beautiful on all fronts with a level of intensity that is impossible to duplicate. This seamless rendition shows softness, richness and great intensity with dark berry flavors that are fused together with spice, leather, tobacco and grilled herb. Cabernet Franc is showing amazing results in Bolgheri and this wine speaks to the grape's potential. It will surely age twenty years or more. The 2012 vintage will be released in the United States market in 2016. - ML 10/2015

Vinous

The 2012 Matarocchio shows just how magical Cabernet Franc can be in Bolgheri. Refined and silky in the glass, the 2012 is all finesse. Raspberry jam, wild flowers, mocha, dark spices, sage and mint open up in the glass, but the 2012 is an infant. Still, it is impossible not to admire the wine's mid-weight, translucent personality and exceptional finesse. Drink: 2018-2032.

Suckling

Poised and focused, this is a young red that shows great complexity and style with lots of blackberry, mint, spice and rosemary aromas that follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Needs two to four years to soften. Rivals Antinori's Solaia in 2012. Try in 2017.
