Turpino vom toskanischen Weingut Querciabella ist ein runder, tiefgründiger Wein von grosser Reinheit, wie es die Weine dieses Pioniers des biodynamischen Anbaus oft sind. Turpino ist eine Assemblage aus Cabernet Franc, Syrah und Merlot, die 16 Monate in Barriques (25% neues Holz) ausgebaut wurde. Nachdem die besten Partien ausgewählt wurden, werden sie zusammengestellt und für sechs bis acht Monate in Zementtanks gelagert.

The 2017 Turpino is quite reticent, which is surprising given the style and personality of the year. Black cherry, pine, menthol, licorice and chocolate develop nicely over time. Readers should give the 2017 at least a few years in bottle, as it is not at all ready to drink now. The 2017 embodies the house style at Querciabella these days nicely.
