Der Barolo Cerequio von Michele Chiarlo ist ein äusserst eleganter und harmonischer Wein, gut strukturiert, mit feinen Tanninen. Er entsteht auf der gleichnamigen Parzelle in La Morra - Barolo. Die zwischen 1972 und 1990 gepflanzten Reben sind nach Südwesten ausgerichtet. Er wird zunächst während 2 Jahren in Eichenfässern ausgebaut und anschliessend mindestens 12 Monate in der Flasche verfeinert.

The Michele Chiarlo 2018 Barolo Cerequio opens to a pretty lacework of aromas with smaller berry fruits, crushed stone, rusty nail, pressed lilac or blue flower and a dusting of spicy licorice powder. The bouquet is vertical and tight, leading to a very precise succession of varietal tones that flavor the wine's polished finish. Nice mix of deep, ripe red fruit and oaky spice. Medium-to full-bodied with a robust framework of tannin and a richly spiced, fruity finish. Needs time to integrate, but there’s a solid core to this. Try from 2024. - JS 01/2022
