Le Petit Mouton est le second vin de Mouton-Rothschild, issu des jeunes vignes du domaine. Produit depuis 1993, il se déguste bien dans sa jeunesse et, bien que l'assemblage varie d'un millésime à l'autre, il a pour constante une plus large proportion de merlot que le grand vin (souvent plus de 20%). Le Petit Mouton offre une belle typicité de Pauillac et le savoir-faire de l'équipe technique du domaine.

The 2025 Le Petit Mouton offers up aromas of dark berries, mint and toasty new oak, followed by a full-bodied, rich and ample palate that's broad and muscular, built around plenty of sweet, powdery tannin. Ripe cassis, black raspberries, chocolate, spicy and smoky graphite nuances all define the 2025 Le Petit Mouton De Mouton, the second wine of Mouton Rothschild and in the running for the top second wine in the vintage. Based on 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot that's resting in 50% new oak, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a round, layered mouthfeel, ripe, pure, precise tannins, and a great finish. It's one hell of a second wine.
