Notes de dégustation

Wineadvocate

The 2014 Corton Pougets Grand Cru has a light marine influence on the nose that laps against the redcurrant and cranberry fruit, just a touch of red plum in the background. The palate is supple and lithe in the mouth, the oak nicely integrated, quite minerally with good density and grip in the finish. It perhaps just lacks a little persistence, but it should age with style.

Vinous

Bright medium red. Spicy red fruits and dried rose on the nose, with complicating hints of pepper, herbs and menthol. Offers a wonderfully refined texture and sneaky intensity in the mouth, showing enticing mineral lift to its cherry, raspberry, pepper and spice flavors. Nothing about this filled-in wine says light vintage; on the contrary, it boasts a terrific plush texture and captivating sweetness, but with tautness and sharp definition. A Corton grand cru with real finesse and perfumed lift, not to mention soil character. Substantial firm, fine-grained tannins give it plenty of structural support for aging. Will this wine go into a shell or will it always be appealing? This was more reserved from barrel but is a beauty today. Drink: 2024-2036.
