Die Cuvée 1850 von Clos Manou ist eine kleine Abfüllung aus einer Merlot-Parzelle, deren präphylloxerische Rebstöcke aus dem Jahr 1850 stammen und die der Verwüstung durch diesen Schädling im Weinbau-Europa des 19. Jahrhunderts widerstanden haben. Von der Cuvée 1850 von Clos Manou werden jährlich etwa 600 Flaschen produziert. Dieses Set enthält 4 Flaschen des 2020er-Jahrgangs.

The 2022 Clos Manou Cuvée 1850, which is aged two-thirds in Wine Globe and the rest in wood, has a delightful bouquet with blackberry, briary, iris flower and lavender scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a lightly peppered opening, pretty saline, fine acidity and depth. Something almost medicinal toward the finish oddly reminds me of a Mourvèdre! There is a coolness here that is very appealing. - NM 04/2023
