Château Gazin liegt im Osten von Pomerol, wo die Böden reich an Lehm und Kalkstein sind. Die Weinberge (24 Hektar zusammenhängend) beherbergen einen für die Region klassischen Rebsortenbestand (90% Merlot, ergänzt durch Cabernets). Nach einer traditionellen Weinbereitung wird der Wein 15 bis 18 Monate in Fässern (50% neues Holz) ausgebaut. Château Gazin ist ein typischer, aromatischer und harmonischer Pomerol.

Beaucoup de finesse et de subtilité dans le bouquet de Gazin. Invitantes notes de baies noires, de réglisse, d'épices et de feuilles de thé. D'entrée le vin se positionne avec élégance et grandeur. Il est ample, mais ne fait pas usage de sa puissance, c'est bien plus la subtilité qui s'impose avec une superbe symbiose entre le côté friand et les tannins charnus qui se révèlent petit à petit et qui appuient bien la fin de bouche et qui étirent la finale. Un vin très abouti qui assume le millésime 2020 avec brio. Que de sérénité et d'harmonie complétées par du tempérament. Quelle grande réussite. I continue to absolutely love the wines from this Pomerol château, and their Grand Vin always brings a richness and depth that makes it a joy to drink. Coming from a larger vineyard near Petrus, La Fleur Petrus, and Le Gay, the dense purple hue of the 2020 Château Gazin is followed by a rocking bouquet of ripe black cherries, currants, melted chocolate, roasted herbs, and earth. Full-bodied, deep, opulent, and concentrated, give this gorgeous 2020 4-6 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 25+. - 03/2023
