The 2010 Moulin-a-Vent La Roche is another of Chateau des Jacques’s wines of its vintage to significantly outperform from bottle last December my descriptions and projections from barrel in Issue 196. Blackberry and red currant mingled with stone, peat and salt inform a juicy and gripping performance, still lean but impressively long, and without the hints of less-ripe elements on which I commented pre-bottling. This should be worth revisiting through at least 2016.
