Wineadvocate

The 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is the high point of Jadot's Beaune portfolio, offering up an incipiently complex bouquet of raspberries, plums, candied peel, licorice, grilled meats and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with an ample core of fruit that's structured around a youthfully firm chassis of chalky tannin, concluding with a long finish. This should age very gracefully.

Vinous

The 2017 Beaune Clos des Ursules 1er Cru, one of my favorite vineyards from Jadot, has a lovely red and black The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru has similar fruit intensity to the Les Baudes, although the oak is a little more vocal and therefore it does not quite have the same transparency. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. This is quite strict and linear at the moment, showing good grip, although I discern more complexity and nuance on the Les Baudes. nose that feels harmonious and assured. The class of the terroir shows through here. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe red fruit and fine grip. A little sinewy, like the Les Cras, but showing fine precision and persistence on the finish. Excellent.

Bright quite deep colour, definitely a good intensity of colour. This has an impressive density, the fruit is still just ripe with good acidity but there are hints of some darker fruit along with the deep red/orange notes. Altogether a more substantial wine. Tasted: November 2018.
